Frieze Masters 2026: Egyptian Offering Bearer and Cycladic Head Among Highlight Sales at David Aaron
Published 22/10/2026
Last week, David Aaron returned to Regent's Park for Frieze Masters 2026, bringing together an exceptional selection of ancient art and natural history. Across five days, we were delighted to welcome collectors, curators and visitors from around the world to our stand, C02.

David Aaron at Frieze Masters 2026.
The gallery's presentation explored enduring themes of power, faith and survival across millennia, with works spanning ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Near Eastern cultures alongside remarkable fossils from the prehistoric world.

Statue of a Female Offering Bearer, Egypt, Late 11th–Early 12th Dynasty.
Among the highlights was an exceptionally preserved Egyptian wooden Statue of a Female Offering Bearer, dating to the Late 11th–Early 12th Dynasty of Egypt's Middle Kingdom. Standing 53 cm high, the figure retains an extraordinary amount of its original painted decoration, including the greenish-blue ribbons of her dress, broad beaded collar and intricately painted wig.

Highlights from David Aaron's opening-day sales at Frieze Masters 2026.
The sculpture was among four works sold to private collectors on the fair's opening day. Other sales included a Large Cycladic Marble Head dating to circa 2600–2400 BC, a Scythian Gold Stag Plaque and a prehistoric Sabre Cat Skull.

Camarasaurus supremus skull, Late Jurassic, approximately 150 million years ago.
Natural history was another focus of our presentation. An exceptionally complete Camarasaurus supremus skull, dating to approximately 150 million years ago, attracted significant interest from collectors and institutions. Excavated in Colorado's Morrison Formation in 2022, the skull preserves its full dentition and an extraordinary detail: an Allosaurus tooth embedded in its lower jaw, providing physical evidence of an encounter between predator and prey during the Late Jurassic.

Triceratops horridus skull, Late Cretaceous, approximately 68–66 million years ago.
Alongside it, a Triceratops horridus skull, dating to approximately 68–66 million years ago and discovered in the Lance Formation of North America, proved a particular attraction for visitors. Both specimens prompted fascinating discussions about palaeontology, fossil preservation and the growing appreciation of natural history among collectors.
Throughout the week, it was a pleasure to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new collectors and share the stories behind the works in our presentation.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Frieze Masters team, everyone involved in bringing our stand to life and, most importantly, all those who took the time to visit us.
Looking ahead, we are delighted to be exhibiting at Frieze Abu Dhabi later this year, where we will present a further selection of exceptional works of ancient art. We look forward to welcoming visitors in Abu Dhabi and continuing the conversations begun in London.
