The Berkeley Square T Rex is a life size bronze sculpture, inspired by a juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil, known as 'Chomper', from the Maastrichtian age of the Upper Cretaceous period, 66-68 million years ago. 'Chomper' was discovered in Montana, USA in 2019 and is a remarkably complete and rare example of a juvenile T Rex.
The sculpture marks David Aaron's first foray into public art and a significant union between dinosaur specialists, modern technology, and artistic expression in the heart of historic Mayfair. Situated prominently in the North-West corner of Berkeley Square, also known as Nightingale’s Corner, the sculpture, spanning 6 meters in length, is part of the rotation of temporary public artworks and will remain in place until 2025.
